SECANT PILE WALL

Secant Pile Wall solutions for deep excavations

At EGF (Emirates German Foundation), we provide reliable Secant Pile Wall solutions for deep excavations, basement construction, retaining systems, and projects that require strong earth retention with improved water control.
Secant pile walls are constructed by forming a continuous wall of interlocking concrete bored piles. This system is commonly used where excavation support, soil retention, and groundwater resistance are required, especially in urban and infrastructure projects with limited space.

The construction process begins with the installation of primary piles, usually formed with unreinforced concrete. Once the primary piles gain sufficient strength, secondary reinforced concrete piles are drilled and constructed between them. These secondary piles cut slightly into the primary piles, creating an interlocked wall system.

The overlap between piles is typically around 100mm to 150mm, depending on the excavation depth, soil conditions, and the required level of water resistance. This interlocking arrangement helps provide a stable retaining structure capable of resisting lateral earth and water pressure.

EGF uses suitable drilling methods and modern piling equipment to ensure accurate pile positioning, proper overlap, and strong structural performance. With experienced teams and strict quality control, EGF delivers secant pile wall systems that are safe, durable, and suitable for demanding excavation and foundation projects.
