SECANT PILE WALL
Secant Pile Wall solutions for deep excavations
At EGF (Emirates German Foundation), we provide reliable Secant Pile Wall solutions for deep excavations, basement construction, retaining systems, and projects that require strong earth retention with improved water control.
Secant pile walls are constructed by forming a continuous wall of interlocking concrete bored piles. This system is commonly used where excavation support, soil retention, and groundwater resistance are required, especially in urban and infrastructure projects with limited space.
The secant pile wall process involves constructing a series of overlapping bored piles using a rotary drilling rig to form a continuous retaining wall. The primary piles are installed first, followed by secondary piles that cut into the adjacent primary piles, creating an interlocking wall system. This method provides excellent ground retention and is highly suitable for deep excavations, basements, and areas with challenging soil or groundwater conditions.
Once the required design depth is reached, concrete is placed into the bore to form each pile. The overlapping arrangement between primary and secondary piles creates a strong and stable wall that helps retain soil, control groundwater seepage, and support surrounding structures during excavation works.
The drilling, pile positioning, depth control, and concreting process are monitored and managed using modern equipment and strict quality control procedures. This ensures accuracy, proper alignment, pile continuity, and consistent wall performance throughout the installation.
With technical expertise, advanced machinery, and a strong focus on safety and quality, EGF delivers secant pile wall works that are durable, efficient, and suitable for demanding foundation and earth-retaining engineering projects.
