CFA PILES
CONTINUOUS FLIGHT AUGER (CFA) PILES
At EGF (Emirates German Foundation), we provide reliable Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piling solutions for projects that require fast, efficient, and low-vibration foundation systems. CFA piles are a type of rotary bored pile constructed without the need for temporary casing or drilling fluid, making them suitable for a wide range of soil conditions and urban construction environments.
The CFA piling process involves rotating a hollow-stem auger into the ground using a rotary drilling rig until the required design depth is reached, or until resistance is encountered in dense soil layers or soft rock formations. This method allows continuous drilling with minimal disturbance to the surrounding ground.
Once the desired depth is achieved, the auger is slowly lifted while rotating in reverse. At the same time, concrete is pumped through the hollow stem of the auger, filling the bore as the auger is withdrawn. This continuous process replaces the drilled soil with fresh concrete, forming a strong and stable pile foundation.
The drilling, auger extraction, and concreting process is monitored and controlled using onboard computerised instrumentation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency throughout the installation. This helps maintain proper pile depth, concrete flow, pressure, and overall construction performance.
With technical expertise, modern equipment, and strict quality control, EGF delivers CFA piling works that are efficient, safe, and suitable for demanding foundation engineering projects.
