DEWATERING SERVICES

DEWATERING SERVICES

At EGF (Emirates German Foundation), we provide reliable dewatering solutions for construction projects that require safe, dry, and stable working conditions below ground level. Dewatering is an essential process used to control groundwater, reduce water pressure, and maintain excavation stability during piling, shoring, basement, and infrastructure works.

DEEP WELL DEWATERING

For deep excavations, EGF provides deep well dewatering systems to lower groundwater levels safely and efficiently before and during construction activities. Deep wells are installed around the excavation area and connected to suitable pumps to control groundwater over a large radius of influence.

This method is suitable for basement works, piling areas, shoring works, and projects where groundwater needs to be reduced from greater depths. The system is designed based on soil conditions, excavation depth, groundwater level, and required pumping capacity to ensure a dry and stable working area.

WELLPOINT DEWATERING

EGF provides wellpoint dewatering systems for shallow excavations and construction areas where groundwater control is required in sandy or permeable soil conditions. Wellpoints are installed at close intervals and connected to a header pipe and vacuum pump system to lower the groundwater table.

This method is commonly used for trenches, foundations, utility works, and shallow basement excavations. It helps maintain dry working conditions, improves soil stability, and supports safe excavation activities with minimum disturbance to the surrounding ground.

FRENCH DRAIN DEWATERING

French drain dewatering is used to collect and redirect surface water, seepage water, or groundwater from excavation areas through a drainage trench system. The system usually consists of a perforated pipe surrounded by gravel or filter material, allowing water to flow naturally toward a sump or collection point.

EGF applies French drain dewatering for areas where gravity drainage is suitable and where water needs to be controlled along excavation edges, basement areas, or temporary construction zones. It is an effective method for improving site drainage and maintaining stable working conditions.

OVERPUMPING

Overpumping is used to remove or divert water from an existing source, excavation, lagoon, stormwater chamber, or water collection area during construction works. The process involves using suitable pumps, discharge pipes, hoses, and temporary pumping arrangements to move water safely from one location to another.

EGF provides overpumping solutions based on the required flow rate, site condition, discharge distance, and pumping capacity. Proper planning and monitoring are carried out to ensure continuous water control and uninterrupted construction progress

DEWATERING MODELING

Dewatering modeling is used to study groundwater behavior and predict how water levels will respond during excavation and pumping activities. It helps engineers understand groundwater flow, drawdown levels, pumping requirements, and the effect of dewatering on nearby areas.

EGF uses dewatering modeling to plan efficient and safe groundwater control systems for complex projects. Soil properties, excavation depth, groundwater level, boundary conditions, and site layout are considered to develop a suitable dewatering solution before execution.
