H-BEAM SHORING

H-Beam Shoring solutions

At EGF (Emirates German Foundation), we provide reliable H-Beam Shoring solutions for temporary and permanent excavation support. This system is commonly used to retain vertical excavations, stabilise soil, and create safe working conditions for basement construction, infrastructure works, and deep excavation projects.

H-beams are typically made from steel wide-flange sections and installed at regular spacing of around 1 to 3 meters apart, depending on the project design and ground conditions. These beams can be driven into the ground using vibratory or impact hammers, or installed inside drilled shafts and backfilled with concrete for additional stability.

Once the H-beams are installed, excavation is carried out in stages. As the soil is removed, timber, steel, or precast reinforced concrete lagging panels are inserted between the flanges of the H-beams. The space behind the lagging is then backfilled and compacted to ensure proper support.

The lateral earth pressure from the retained soil is transferred through the lagging panels onto the H-beams, creating a strong and stable shoring system. In areas with a high groundwater table, a suitable dewatering system may also be required to maintain excavation stability and ensure safe construction progress.

With experienced engineering teams, suitable equipment, and strict safety procedures, EGF delivers efficient H-Beam Shoring systems tailored to each project’s excavation depth, soil condition, and site requirements.
